Cloudy and cold, around 20F when leaving Florence.

Today we drove on down to Crossville, TN and parked in the driveway of our sister-in-law Marilyn.

South of Florence we stopped at the Kentucky Artisan Center at the Berea exit. It’s a great place to stop for lunch as they have an excellent lunch room and the prices are very reasonable. Besides a good lunch stop they have beautiful handcrafts of all types from local artisans. It was another cold day but at least no snow.

On Friday my nephew Mike and I went to Lowe’s and bought a piece of Plexiglas and cut it to fit the missing window opening and glued it in place with some RTV compound. We had a nice visit with relatives and then on Saturday we met up with my niece Sheila and her husband Paul at the next exit west on I40 and travelled together down to Estill Springs to visit together with Earl and Marcia. Earl and Marcia are friends of Sheila and Paul’s and after camping together a number of times we consider them friends also.

Earl and Marcia have a beautiful home with furnishings and memorabilia from their extended stays in Greece and Africa. Sunday we all went up to the University of the South in Sewanee to have lunch. The university has a huge buffet lunch that’s open to the public. The University of the South is a Presbyterian sponsored university in a beautiful setting on Sewanee Mountain in Southern Tennessee. The architecture is that of an ivy league school with stone building construction.

It has been a relaxing four days of visiting in Tennessee. We got to visit with relatives and friends and gotten to see part of Tennessee that we had not seen before.

Tomorrow, we head further southwest.
