Weather - 28 when we woke up this morning.
Today we crossed over the state line into the great state of Texas and stopped for the evening in a really nice RV park called Oak Creek RV park. It was a new park with great facilities.
This morning when we were preparing to leave Shreveport I couldn't get the TV antenna to rotate into the retract position. After twisting and trying to turn it I decided to check the roof and see what was going on. Stepping outside the door I figured out the problem. Overnight we had freezing rain and although the road didn't seem icy everything else was. I got as far as putting one foot on the roof and decided it was too treacherous to climb up there. Joan suggested putting down a couple of towels to crawl across the roof on and that did the trick. Armed with Joan's hair dryer and dragging the extension cord I made it to the antenna mount. After about 5 minutes of hot air the antenna broke loose and could then be retracted. That was fun!
As we were leaving the Shreveport area we kept hearing reports of traffic problems and fender benders. We managed to avoid the problem areas I guess as for the most part we didn't have any problems with slippery roads.
We apparently were on the south edge of the major storm that developed in the midwest that affected so many across the nation eventually. We hope we stay on the warm side of it.
